Paraprofessional – Kindergarten through 8th grade

Monday - Friday.

7:30am to 4:00pm.

Hourly: $16.50-$18.00/hr.

Location:

Detroit Service-Learning Academy.

Redford Service-Learning Academy.

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families while maintaining documentation of services provided.

Essential Functions:

(Works w/ Lead Teacher in)

Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs.
Maintain program documentation on children and families.
Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences, and home visits.
Document and communicate children's progress using the Child Observation Record (COR).

Training, knowledge, experience and certification(s) required:

High School diploma required.
Must meet the State of Michigan requirements for being a Title 1 paraprofessional with either 60 college credits completed in any subject or a passing score on the ETS Para Pro Assessment.
Experience working in a school or with elementary experience is required.

Physical Requirement:

Able to lift 15 pounds to carry, push and/or pull items.
Hear and speak to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
The ability to travel to other buildings within the district is required.
